Crime Stoppers is a community volunteer organisation that believes the general public can help make a difference in solving and preventing crime.
Crime Stoppers has a telephone hotline and website to provide anonymous information about criminal activity. This information is electronically sent to the Police establishment nearest to where the crime is occurring for investigation.
The call is not recorded and the caller is able to remain anonymous. Callers are allocated a code number and by using this number can check on the progress of an investigation. Where offenders are duly charged with an offence a reward may be payable which again may be collected anonymously. Details of the crime are required – time, description of persons and vehicle registration etc.
Members of the public are urged to ring CRIME STOPPERS on Tel: 1800 333 000 or for more information go to the Links page.
If you need police to attend an address or you need immediate police assistance DO NOT PHONE CRIME STOPPERS.
